To design a music poster for a concert held by Brian Eno, an artist known for his ambient music, at McGill metro for his latest album, Reflection. The goal of the poster was to promote as well as provide a feel for the album itself. It should also reflect the artistic nature of the underground station.

THE BRIEF
THE PROCESS
I approached the poster design in two stages - focusing on visuals and treating the typography. To capture the varied nature of Eno’s work, I listened to the album several times and drew inspiration from the impression of the sound of lake water. I depicted the water in a vector style to reflect Eno’s generative music style and used bright colors found in his various artworks.
For typography, I wanted the text to interact with the water and not interrupt it, so I decided that large text interacting with the water would be interesting.
THE OUTCOME
This project was definitely took me out of my comfort zone with a very maximalist design compared to my usual, structured style, resulting in a bold poster with contrasting colors and typographic presence which interacted with the water in a way that seemingly melted in from the background.
