THE BRIEF

To create an advertising campaign for Poppers, a vodka cooler brand that is renowned for its delicious and refreshing flavors. In order to expand its reach and increase sales, the intention is to raise awareness of the brand in the coolers industry.

THE PROCESS

Our research showed that although Poppers is a Quebec-made drink, many Quebecers were not aware of the brand’s fruity coolers. This prompted us to primarily focus on the Quebec audience by coming up with an advertising concept which features the Poppers can as the main character traveling through various locations in Quebec. The idea behind the campaign is to showcase the beauty of the province while capturing the audience’s attention with the playful use of the Poppers can as the tourist in the foreground.

We settled on three locations that are well-known in Quebec and used different can colors to complement the context of each location. Finally, we came up with the tagline “Mon pays c’est l’été,” a playful reference to a popular Quebecois song “Mon Pays” by Gilles Vigneault that contains the line “Mon pays c’est l’hiver,” but with a twist for the summer season, highlighting that Poppers are best enjoyed during the warmer months.

THE OUTCOME

Our team used this project as an opportunity to complement each other’s skills, by showcasing our individual strengths and supporting one another in areas where we needed improvement, resulting in an engaging campaign. After 15 weeks of work, in addition to three eye-catching posters, we created Instagram ads and store danglers that helped to solidify the customer’s journey and create a playful and attractive overall campaign.
